The tournament was established to raise funds for the Joseph Manzi Foundation. Joe, a 1998 graduate of Berlin High School, was killed in a snowmobile accident in December of 2002. He was an avid musician and a member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department.

Proceeds from the tournament support local charitable organizations and persons in need.

Additionally, another use of the foundation will go toward doing things for Berlin's Volunteer Fire Department, of which Joe was a member of. It keeps his memory alive, and in doing so, is helping other people.

Recent Contributions include:

  • $1,000 F.I.R.S.T Robotics Team of Berlin
  • $250 to the Kensington Rotary to benefit the Salvation Army "Out of the Cold" Breakfast
